The name "Lanamals" is a combination of the Spanish word for wool, "lana" and "animals." Making Lanamals for people is a joy for Duffie.

Her goal is to bring to life the essence of a species or a specific animal.

She especially enjoys designing a Lanamal that has a story or a unique character that can be incorporated into the final piece.

All that is required to create a Lanamal for you is a description of the animal - a photo is very helpful (more than one is better) - and background information such as details not visible in a photo and stories about the animal that tell something of the individual's character. Lanamals make great gifts or memorials of cherished pets.

Lanamals are fiber sculptures - art - and so they are not recommended as children's toys.
